Postpartum Visits
Postpartum care is about steady, loving support as you settle in at home with your baby. As your doula, I come alongside you with a calm presence, gentle guidance, and practical help so you don’t have to do this season alone. I check in on your physical recovery, offer emotional support as you process your birth, and help you tune in to your own instincts as a parent. Together, we create a soft landing for you, your baby, and your growing family.
What is our goal?
During a postpartum visit, I come to your home to check in on you and baby, answer questions, and offer hands-on help. This can look like supporting feeding (breast/chest or bottle), helping you learn baby cues and soothing, light tidying in the spaces you use most, and simple meal or snack prep. I can also care for baby while you shower, nap, or take a quiet moment. Each visit is shaped around what feels most supportive to you that day.
Meals
If you’d like extra support with food, I am happy to prepare ahead of time and bring with me to our visit. These are simple, comforting dishes designed to be easy on your body and easy to reheat when you need them most. We’ll talk through your preferences and any dietary needs, then I’ll handle the planning and cooking. This way, your fridge is stocked with ready-to-go options so you can rest and nourish yourself without extra effort.

About

Our Mission & Vision
As a birth doula, it is an honor to come alongside you as a steady support and guide throughout your birth journey.
A doula is a trained, non-medical professional who offers education, encouragement, and emotional support before, during, and after birth.
At the heart of my work is a deep trust in birth. I trust your body. I trust your intuition. I believe you, your partner, and your baby are the perfect team.
My role is not to perform medical tasks, make decisions for you, or speak over you to your care provider. I don’t replace your partner or bring an agenda into your birth space. Instead, I help create a calm, supportive environment where you feel informed, confident, and free to follow your instincts.

Vicky’s path to becoming a doula has been unfolding for more than twenty years. Long before stepping into the role professionally, she spent years caring for others in many forms—as a homeschooling mother, homesteader, goat midwife, yogi, gardener, education consultant, preschool teacher, photographer, potter, basket weaver, wife, friend, and mother to two remarkable children. Each season of life strengthened her instinct for nurturing, steady presence, and practical support.
When Vicky hired a doula for the birth of her second child she was looking for the strength and support that experience brings. The presence of her doula as part of her birth plan immediately brought comfort. She received gentle reassurance and comfort in the knowledge the doula brought. As the birth came closer she experienced firsthand the power of having someone supporting and quietly hold the space during labor. With the doula's steady presence supporting her partner, tending to small needs, and keeping the outside world calm, Vicky was free to turn inward and trust the wisdom of her body.
That experience stayed with her. Now, as she steps into this long-held calling, Vicky brings the same calm, grounded presence to the families she serves—offering steady support, warmth, and reassurance so mothers can focus fully on the powerful work of bringing their babies into the world.
Mother's role
A mother’s body is beautifully
designed for birth.
As labor unfolds, powerful natural hormones help guide the process—encouraging contractions, easing discomfort, and supporting the steady rhythm that brings the baby closer with each wave. When a mother is able to relax, breathe, and trust her body, these hormones flow more freely, helping labor progress in its own time. Birth is not meant to be done alone, and the presence of a loving partner and a supportive doula can create a circle of calm and reassurance. With steady encouragement, gentle touch, and a safe space to follow her instincts—moving, resting, breathing, and responding to her body’s cues—a mother can find strength and confidence in the work of bringing her baby into the world.
Did you know that babies help
with their own birth?
Birth is not something that simply happens to a baby—babies take part in the journey, too. As labor begins, the baby gently settles deeper into the pelvis, their head resting against the cervix and encouraging it to soften and open. With each wave of labor, the baby slowly makes their way downward, turning and adjusting their body to find the best path through the pelvis. It is a quiet, instinctive dance between mother and baby, each responding to the other. While this is happening, the baby’s body is also preparing for life outside the womb, releasing hormones that help ready their lungs for their first breaths. As the rhythm of birth builds, the baby’s movement and the mother’s body work together so powerfully that the body often begins to push on its own, guiding the baby into the world. 🤍
Baby's role
Partner's role
A partner plays a powerful role in creating a calm and
supportive space for birth.
Their presence offers reassurance, comfort, and steady encouragement as labor unfolds. Through simple acts—holding a hand, offering a cool cloth, helping with breathing, or speaking gentle words of confidence—they remind the mother that she is not alone. A loving partner can help protect the peaceful environment that allows her body’s natural rhythms to work, helping her stay relaxed and focused. By staying present, attentive, and supportive, partners are an important part of the birth team, helping create a sense of safety and trust as their baby makes the journey into the world.
